Sometimes we start something not fully knowledgeable of what it will require from you. Your compass marks the direction you want to follow, and you start the journey. That has been the case for us with publishing XOLYD's ERP and CRM solution for Freight Forwarders and Shipping Companies on Appsource, Microsoft's marketplace where businesses can discover, try, and deploy certified apps, add-ins, and services that integrate with Microsoft products like Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365.

The path is challenging.

You start with the most complex of things, and yet the most simple to understand. And you finish with the simplest of things, yet the hardest to get right.

Sounds confusing, right?

So, basically you start with something you knew you needed all along: a packaged solution, some references to back it up. Getting to this point is hard. Takes years before your investments can be referenced as “a product”. But that we knew.

Then you need the package to be AppSource-compliant, which means meeting not only the technical and security requirements, but also documentation. Yep. This leads to Microsoft's rigorous validation criteria for performance, security, accessibility, and metadata. And you’re still half way through, as submitting it requires precise configuration of offers, pricing, and documentation, ensuring compatibility across environments (e.g., Dynamics 365 versions, browsers, and devices) and thorough testing. Finally, crafting a compelling listing and marketing strategy, including visuals, keywords, and customer value messaging, is essential to stand out in a crowded marketplace and drive adoption.

This is where our compass led us.

We’ve published it. A complete solution that lives inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and it feels awesome. Like we've sold something. Only we didn’t.

We just got the AppSource certificate that ERP for Logistics Services Providers is enterprise-ready, secure, and compliant with platform standards.

Just like we always imagined it would be.
